Description

Okay, I had WAY too much fun with this.

Anyone who knows me probably knows how I am about animal people who aren't A) aliens, B) mythological creatures, C) established 80s/90s cartoon characters or D) clothed for the love of GAWD (scarves and headbands count).

But you would also know that I love lizards. Well, :iconty-chou: loves lizard girls, and I figured drawing a lizard girl of my fire skink Hephastos would be fun to try.

And then I almost cried when I really looked at realized the whole pattern on those things is made of little coloured dots. They are undoubtedly the most beautiful of creatures, but what they are actually trying to camouflage with I have no dang clue. Most of this was just figuring out the best way to make her patterns look like a jumpsuit or something, and how to do them with just an inking pen. I failed, and coloured it.

Anyway, my Hephy is a dude (at least I think so), so this gal's name is Fernandi (from riopa fernandi, the Latin name for the fire skink ... yeah, I'm so creative). She's bold and adventurous, but only if you're far away: as soon as you come close she'll dive for cover and then stare at you like it's all your fault. Her favourite food is chocolate-covered crickets (warning: do not feed to real fire skinks). The quickest way to her heart is through her stomach ... and her love will be gone once the food is. She likes long basks in the sun and hates Pina Coladas, beaches, and just about anything that's bigger than she is.

Fernandi belongs to me.
If you are a handsome young skink (or any other reptile really, she's not racist, er, species-ist) interested in her dating profile, send your information via our network and maybe we can hook you up.

I am so messed up.

just read the bio and laughed real cool definatly you have an imagination that rocks

as for the camo pattern and color choice its not just olive drab that covers them up its a break up and blend in with low lying grass if you have ever lost something in the yard such as keys....bright brass and silver should stick out right? its the color diflection that helps hide it natures camo on many of the creatures is spectacular take the deer sued brown in a green field I have walked many a time down our road and if they stay still theyr invisible so fascinating to watch them walk into our grove of trees stop and poof gone :) take care and keep up the good work
