I see your MTMTE #13 cover and raise you some SPONTANEOUS RUNG COSPLAY.

This happened about 13 seconds after seeing the cover image with everyone's holoforms [link] ... Would you believe I already had all of that stuff in my house? I'm going to just stay dressed like this for a week now.

:iconladyleyn: made me the Rung scarf for Christmas this year (it has a pretty blue patch right in the center like his chest). She is literally the loveliest   I will take a better picture of it sometime.

Holy hell but that does this make cosplay look almost like something I could actually pull off (at my age, Sailor Moon does NOT go over well - were I so inclined that I lacked the self respect). But I think what made this really special is that my 10 year old son just stared for EVER and said "I would want to be THAT for Halloween, cept mom, she's such a cute girl!"

He understands it to be steam punk. I didn't even know he knew what that WAS! BUT - in the interrim, if you find a 10 year old boy at your doorstep during the summer (we travel a lot) he'll probably be mine. That boy can sniff out ANY one...

Aww, what's wrong with him copying my costume just 'cuz I'm a girl? Scarves and windgoggles look good on everybody! :D

Honest though, I gravitate towards unisex or slightly-masculine costumes because I love portraying myself that way sometimes. Blurring my own gender perception is a wonderfully freeing sensation. I can feel like myself smoking a pipe in a dinner-jacket or bedecked in makeup and flowy skirts, and I love it :XD:

And lol, if you ever travel around these parts, let me know and we'll all hang out! Your son can try on my goggles :D

I was never one for designated gender - I can as easily dress and act like a guy as I do a woman. I learned early in life that with the exception of some biologically induced factors, gender is a social construct - and I like being both so!

No, my son didn't mean it was a girl's outfit - he meant that the girl in it was cute, and he preferred the girl to the outfit FIRST. That, and she was already WEARING it so he couldn't wear it at the same time. His - thought processes are - interesting. I take complete credit for it.

When I saw that cover and figured out who was who, I wondered how long it would take to peel you off the ceiling :XD:

You know me so well
Halloween is so in this bag next year. I shall have to find that sick pimpin' cane and a fancy sweet vest... There be the smell of thrift stores in the future :XD:
